David Jones needs your help! January 26, 2023

Hello, my name is Mary Lou Jones, and I am raising funds for my son, David Jones, who is known by many in our town as Mr. Christmas, for his huge Christmas lights and music show, with a Ferris wheel, singing trees and a light-up dance floor for the children! This Christmas show ran from the day after Thanksgiving to New Year's Day for the past 10 years! His biggest fan is Dr. Carlos Ruiz of Lake Havasu City and Hawaii. Suddenly, David suffered a massive stroke while driving home from work on August 26, 2022! He was air evacuated from Lake Havasu City to Phoenix, Ax., where he's had two brain surgeries, and a pacemaker because he Coded three times in one night. He's had part of his skull removed because his brain swelled so badly. He has lost his ability to speak! He is now at a rehab facility undergoing intensive therapies. He had no directives and we are trying to handle his affairs best we can but we need to hire an attorney to get Guardianship for Incapacitated adults. Bills are adding up as we had to put his belongings in storage. We've had to move him out of his home, and pay some outstanding bills, but I am 80 years old and only have Social Security! If you can bless us with any donation, it will be greatly appreciated by me, his four sons and three grandbabies! God Bless! ****** UPDATE ON DAVID: 9/28/22 Thank you everyone for the hundreds of messages for David! He is now in a Skilled Nursing facility for at least three months, where he will continue with intense physical therapy, occupational therapy and important speech therapy! We are awaiting a timeline for the surgery to replace the piece of his skull that had to be removed because of dangerous brain swelling. We really are blessed that we still have our son, father and grandfather! We will continue with our Gofundme as David will need total care for years rather than months. We are sincerely humbled by those who have generously donated to help him! Please continue to pray for us as we keep all of you in prayer! ************NOVEMBER UPDATE ON DAVIDl We've had so many messages of support and asking how David is doing that I cannot answer all of there personally and I'm sorry! Also, it was suggested that I post our story again for all the Winter Visitors who have enjoyed David's Christmas display over the years and may not have heard of his stroke! David is still in a Skilled Nursing Facility and recently celebrated his birthday.

David is receiving daily therapy in three areas. While he has made some progress, it is very slow. He can now say four words. David tries very hard. He continues to require 24-hour care. The paralysis on his right side has not improved as yet. We set some milestones for him before we will attempt to move him home with his eldest son, Travis and family, hopefully in 3 to 4 months. He still has another surgery to replace his skull they removed due to swelling of his brain. Myself, his Mom, and Travis have been appointed Co-guardians and Co-conservators for David by the Superior Court of Maricopa County, Az. We are in the process of retrieving his belongings. As Lake Havasu City prepares for the coming holidays, I know all of you will miss David's lights and music show.
