Mr. Dean's Cancer Support

As many of you know, Mr. Dean is a Carteret County legend. For almost 30 years, he has poured his heart and soul into the lives of our county residents. He has worked at least 2 jobs during this time to provide for his family. One of the many roles in which he made connections was as head custodian at Newport Elementary School. It was in this position that he was able to build lasting relationships with so many of our students, staff, and parents. He also works with the Parks and Recreation Department where he became well known as a loving and caring mentor.

Mr. Dean has always put God first and has projected that love to all who surround him. He is the first to come to someone's aid and does it with a huge smile. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and in many ways has done that time and time again.

Recently, Mr. Dean was diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been receiving treatments. However, this diagnosis has not changed his positive outlook on life. He still comes to work with a smile and a goal to make everyone he meets feel special. We would love for Mr. Dean to feel the kind of love that he has shown everyone in his time of need.

We are hoping to raise money to help allow Mr. Dean to enjoy his retirement with his wife and grandkids without having to worry about the many medical expenses associated with a cancer diagnosis. This is a chance for us to show Mr. Dean the love and support that he has shown us throughout the years.
