Mr. Kim's Food Truck
Donation protected
Mr. Kim has been operating a mobile food truck that serves Anchorage's homeless for the last few years. On April 26, 2019 his truck was vandalized and burglarized while parked overnight. Mr. Kim is 79 years old and continues to work in the custodial business while operating the food truck with limited resources.
All donations will go to support the repairs to Mr. Kim's food truck and replenish the stolen food that was destined to needy families. Donations above this amount will go toward purchasing food for distribution by Mr. Kim.
This situation was covered in an article in the Anchorage Daily News by Devin Kelly (https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/anchorage/2019/05/07/in-midtown-anchorage-a-break-in-at-a-mobile-food-pantry-for-the-homeless/#_) and a profile was done of Mr. Kim by ADN's Marc Lester in 2016 (https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/2016/07/15/pig-roast-feeds-anchorage-mans-mission-to-serve-homeless-people/)
Please note this GoFundMe account lists Ms. Insun Kirchner as the beneficiary of this campaign. She is the vice-president of The Daehan Senior Association in Alaska, the 501(c)(3) that Mr. Kim's food truck works under (Mr. Kim is the president).
