Baby Malakai Smiths Heart Journey

Hello my name is Darren Smith I'm the father of baby Malakai Smith me and his mother Jada Wood are raising funds for our time out in a different province with our baby for his second surgery and third we will be ongoing within the next months to come.

Malakai was born with 3 holes in his heart due to Venticular Septal Defect a type of congenital heart disease. We previously visited the city of Edmonton when Malakai was only 5 days old when he got his first surgery done & we have returned 6 months later because one of the bands on his heart broke over the winter months and put him into heartfaliure so we are back for his second surgery also then waiting for a ongoing third procedure.

The funds we are trying to fundraise will be going towards Malakais diapers which he is very sensitive to huggies which they provide in the hospital. Malakai goes through diapers quickly due to his Lasiks he recives and funds for me and Darren to eat & travel to and from our hotel to the Stollery Childrens Hospital where our son is staying for the next months ahead.

We have been hospital parents since our sons birth so moving around is nothing new to us as long as we have our son by our side we are extremely blessed for the care & compassion the Dr's & Nurses have shown us over the months & all baby Malakai has taught us about strength love and hope. Our goal is to take baby Malakai home with us this year so we can finally start our lives together!❤️‍❤
