Help in Mr. McKee’s Wife’s Fight Against Cancer

In May of 2011, Kristin (wife) had a seizure and was diagnosed with a grade 2 Astrocytoma; it was enormous! The doctors removed it surgically and kept her under observation for the next few years.
The tumor returned in 2013. Given that this was clearly an aggressive cancer, they professionals said she should do radiation and chemotherapy. We did radiation for 6 weeks and chemo for about 14 months.
Over the next few years, we had two kids, Hannah and Jospeh. We were on top of the world. Much to our dismay, in an MRI in March 2023, the doctor noticed a small change… By November, that small change had become a rather large tumor. The doctors decided surgery, chemo and radiation were an effective combination, and were the prescription.
We had the surgery in December and we are set to begin radiation and chemo in a few days (Monday). We’re currently scheduled for 5 weeks of radiation and a year of chemo. The hardest moment was hearing that the tumor has been upgraded to a grade 4. At grade 4, the Astocytoma takes on a new name: Glioblastoma. This is the new fight. I am daily amazed that wife, despite her fear, carries on as if nothing is wrong. She plays with the kids, does homework with Hannah, and even picks out my clothes for work! I cannot explain how either of us are functioning under the burden of this tumor, except that God must be carrying us. Prayers are the most important thing we can possibly receive right now.
