Mr. Steve, WWII Navy Vet Burial

Mr Stephen R. Sears or “Mr. Steve” as he’s known to all at The Dockside and along the Canal, is in need of having his burial wishes arranged. Mr. Steve passed away on Tuesday, March 5th at the age of 97.

Mr. Steve proudly served in WWII for the US Navy on The USS Oceanus ARB 2. At 97 years of age Mr. Steve lived a long and wonderful life. While living a long life is a blessing, Mr. Steve outlived his retirement and life savings.

We have reached out to various veterans organizations and unfortunately, Mr. Steve does not qualify for benefits that may be available to others. We’re hoping as a community we can come together to provide Mr. Steve with a proper burial that he deserves for serving our country.

Money raised will go to covering the cost of his last wishes and any additional funds raised will be donated to local veterans charities.
