Hey It's Mr.Gilbert, Help needed with forced disability
Donation protected
I was a teacher for almost 30 years and spent the majority of my years in Baltimore City. First at the prestigious Paul Laurence Dunbar High School from 1997-2018 and then at Fallstaff Elementary Middle School from 2018-2024. I have been blessed to be able to teach at 2 great schools with even better colleagues and students. In September of 2024, I was forced due to my declining health to take a retirement through disability. I did not want to stop teaching but my body would not let me anymore. The small amount of money I get monthly is not helping and I need some temporary help until I can get on my feet again. If you did not hear what happened to me, please read below:
In March of 2020, the COVID pandemic started, and I contracted COVID just a few days later. At that time, I did not know I had it because it was so early. But in May of 2020, I started to feel new symptoms that I never had before. Since then, I have struggled greatly with Long-Hauler Covid symptoms with the emphasis on my heart, lungs, and fatigue. For the past few school years, I missed considerable time and I was able to barely make it through the year physically, mentally, and financially. Even with the help from my family, it has become too hard for me to keep up.
I am very embarrassed to ask for help in this way but it is very hard financially right now for me because I cannot ask my family for any more help, they are helping the best they can right now. I am asking for any help from anyone. I am asking for help…Please. I am not here to just to find an easy way out, I really need help for a moment in my life. I have co-pays, prescriptions, monthly bills that are hard to meet monthly, serious travel expenses for all of my doctors, and other basics. However you can help, it will be greatly appreciated and I will forever be grateful for your generosity. Thanks ....Poet Family...Thanks Fallstaff Family.....I miss you all, love you all....Mr.Gilbert
