Tips for Tracey
Donation protected
Tracey is a mother, sister, aunt, wife and great friend. Tracey has been recently diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Hairy Cell Leukemia. She also has what is known as BRAF mutation. Hairy Cell Leukemia only effects around 800 people in the whole United States each year. Tracey started chemotherapy on February 18, 2015 at home on February 21,2015 she was admitted to the hospital with a fever, possible infection, low blood counts and complications from the chemo. All of Tracey's blood counts (white, red, platelets) are critically low, her white blood cell count is 0 and the lowest it should be is 1200, therefore she is at extreme risk for infection. Tracey has also received several blood transfusions and a couple platelet transfusions and there are several more to come. We have been told that she will not be leaving the hospital until her fever is gone, she is eating and her and her blood counts are better. We are asking for donations to help ease the burdon with all the medical bills. Tracey is employed at Tillman's Village Inn but is unable to work because she is not able to fight off an infection, for most people the cancer does not end their life, it is the infection that does.
