Amy first started her journey with cancer in 2010 at 29 years old. At that time she chemotherapy and radiation along with a double mastectomy.
Well, the cancer came back on April 1, 2013. It was diagnosed as breast cancer stage four. Amy was told there wasn't anything the doctors could do but remove her ovaries. At the time Amy did not feel like that was the appropriate thig to do. What did she do? Amy decided to look into doctors and treatments with natural remedies. It did help, for almost two years. In July of 2014 a pet scan was done, it came back showing there was a little progression. However, that didn't stop Amy, in fact she was even more determined to be cancer free.
Two weeks ago I called Amy up to see how her scan went. I could tell by her voice it didn't go well. She told me it had spread to her hip, rib, and thoracic spine. I remember getting off the phone and feeling sadness . But, not loss of hope. You see Amy is so determined, has great doctors, friends, family , and even animals that just love her. I knew she would figure something out. And that's what she and her fiancé Alex did.
Amy and Alex researched , and researched until they found a doctor who does inter grated oncology. This means he uses conventional medicine but also understands how important diet and natural medicine is too. Some of the treatments Amy is doing in Austria, that's right in Austria! Vitamin C IV while doing hypothermia treatment, a cancer vaccine is being made for Amy out of cancer cells, three treatments consisting of five days per treatment of Interleukin, which will cause flu like symptoms to boost her immune system.
These treatments as you know are costly. Every little bit helps. For those of you who know Amy we can all agree she is a special person with a HUGE heart and a bright personality ! I encourage all of you to check out her blogs. Above is a link attached to them.
