Little Miss AKA Extravaganza Contestant

Hi family and friends,

This year I am participating in the Little Miss AKA Extravaganza, the signature fundraising program sponsored in partnership with the Sigma Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and Pearls Among the Ivy Foundation, Incorporated. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was founded January 15, 1908, on the campus of Howard University as the first sorority for Afro American collegiate women. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in life and to be of “Service to All Mankind.” The theme of this year’s Sigma Kappa Omega Chapter’s fundraising Extravaganza is “Crowned Pearls: Embracing Legacy, Shaping Destiny”. My participation in the Extravaganza will allow me to build relationships with other young girls, participate in a motherdaughter tea, and numerous other cultural activities, as well as learn important qualities that I will take with me through middle and high school, college and beyond. With your help, I have the opportunity to raise money for my college education as well as help fund future community giving efforts of the sorority.
