Mrs. B. "Beazy" D.L. Alarcon fundraiser

My name is Beatrice D.L. Alarcon also known to my students as 'Mrs. Beazy.' I have taught high school English and Professional Communications for the past ten years. Between my husband and I, we have seven beautiful children- they are my blessings. For several years, I was plagued with severe headaches. In 2018 at the encouragement of one of my good friends and because one night the pain was unbearable, I went to the emergency room. To my disbelief, a brain aneurysm was found behind my left eye. My doctor referred me to a neurosurgeon in Houston. I thought I was going for a checkup; however, when he saw the aneurysm size was 9mm, all of his surgeries were rescheduled, and I needed a procedure done immediately. The fear was that the aneurysm would rupture. A stent was placed, but I had to stay in the hospital for a few days and take some time off work because I had facial swelling and severe headaches.

Time has passed, and, thank God, the stent worked! The 9mm brain aneurysm is gone! However, in my last check-up, another aneurysm was found; this one is 1.4mm on the right side of my brain near my spinal cord. I will be traveling to Houston next week for another check-up. We are praying for complete healing.

These past few years have been challenging. On top of my medical expenses, my family has been plagued with bouts of COVID, sending me and my 12, 10, and 6-year-old daughters twice into quarantine. My 10-year-old daughter was rushed to the Children's Hospital in San Antonio when she lost feeling in her legs after her bout with COVID. We stayed in the hospital for three days. To add to this, I am having difficulty with my mortgage company. I have been told that I may lose my home. I am currently fighting this, but fighting a mortgage company is quite scary and stressful.

I know that the state of the World has affected each one of us in different ways. Medical bills and other accumulating expenses/bills have caused much stress, worry, and uneasiness. I am humbly asking for help. Like I tell my students, it is okay to ask for help. If you can find it in your heart to help my family and me in any way- it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless!
