Updated November 12 2022
On June 20th 2022, on the 1 yr anniversary of the death of her late husband James Charles Thompson, Sun Thompson also known as Mrs. Chang, suffered a severe brain aneurysm. She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she had to have emergency brain surgery and then immediately flown to UNC Chapel Hill to the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit where she was in a coma for over a month.
She was given a 5% survival probability due to the severity of her brain injury and it was thought that she would not wake up.

After constant prayers and positive thoughts from family and friends and all of her caring customers she woke up from her coma and surprised her doctors! She was already defying the odds. She continued to defy the odds as she always did in her life and progressed for a few weeks.

However this was not enough. She held on for over 4 months but her body had been through too much.

She peacefully passed on to glory on November 10th 2022 to be with her loved ones.

This is a very tough time for the family and I know this is very hard for the community. I know that so many loved her. We are accepting flowers, cards, donations at Changs Seafood 110 Johnson street Fayetteville NC 28303. Her funeral services will be updated this week or you can come by the store to find out more information

Thank you to every single person that loved my mama and that has supported our business. I will NEVER forget ❤️ please pray for our peace
