Help Ijay honor Her Mum's Memory

Donation protected
This campaign was borne out of the sheer desire to assist our dear Friend, Colleague and Sister, who recently lost her dear Mother, post complications from a brain tumour surgery.

Her beloved mother’s demise happened after a protracted illness, through continued treatments and physiotherapies from 2020, up until the final battle with a brain tumour this year, 2024. What started as a manageable sickness, unfortunately came to a tragic end, by midnight of November 16th, when mummy transited peacefully after the successful surgery, due to other complications. This necessitated this passionate plea for financial support to help cover the burial and travel expenses and to recoup from the immense financial strain of caring for her mother during the long period of hospitalization, carrying the heavy weight of tuition and now needing to return home to bury her beloved Mother.

Ijay is one self-determined, self-disciplined and self-motivated single parent, resilient, thoughtful, and full of selfless love for everyone who meets her. She is the kind of friend who would give you her last dime without a second thought, and right now, she needs our support more than ever. She is an international student who arrived Ontario, Canada in June 2023, currently running her second post graduate program, having completed her first, in pursuit of a better life for both her and her entire family [both immediate and extended]. She is sheduled to conclude her final program by May 2025, but instead of focusing on her studies and tuition payment, she is now saddled with another major responsibility of arranging for her loving mother’s burial back home in Nigeria. The attendant cost of flight and funeral activities as scheduled to hold by 4th week in December 2024, may jeopardize her chances of successfully concluding her program next year, hence this Plea.

Ijay’s mum was her EVERYTHING. Their bond was one of those rare, unshakable connections, filled with love, laughter, and a deep understanding that only mothers and daughters share.

How You Can Help
We hope to raise CAD$15,000, so we are asking for your generous and kind support to help cover the burial and travel expenses to provide her with the much-needed respite from the huge financial weight she has borne and is yet to bear. EVERY LITTLE HELPS, and all contributions will go directly to the expected expenses.

Here are the donation details if you prefer to contribute to her local Naira account:
• Access Bank PLC (Nigeria): 0020034033 (Ijeoma Emenalo)
• Also, [email redacted] for e-interact transactions.
If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this message with others or keeping our dearest friend, colleague and sister, in your prayers at this critical time would mean so much

Thank you.
