Hi my name is Tammy Taylor and I'm fundraising for Giane Mandin.

Here's Giane's story:

It has always been a dream to visit and work in America. Growing up, aunts and uncles would send packages from the US that contain things and goodies that are not available anywhere else in the Philippines.

After earning my university degree, I was thrown into the real world. Life was hard and I have come to the realization that the American dream may not be easy to achieve.

One day, a call from a friend changed my life. He informed me about somebody he knows who can help connect me with schools in the US. I felt hesitant at first. I weighed things for a year before deciding to go out of my comfort zone.

Applying to a US school was not a walk in the park; but by the grace of God, I was hired after my first school interview. Hello, Wellton Elementary School!

I left my home country in July 2019. Adjusting to a new environment was made easy with very helpful and understanding colleagues.

In October of the same year, I was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease or IgA Nephropathy. It felt as if my world was going to end, yet I fought for my life and decided it was just a bump in the road, God will never give me something I could not handle.

I have gone through COVID-19, had dialysis for two and a half years… and now, blessed to receive a new kidney.

I continue to enjoy and grow professionally working in the school that has shown me my value as a teacher and has always been a place full of love and care.

I need a sponsorship for a specific visa program to continue my teaching at Wellton Elementary. My school is willing to help get that sponsor, but the cost for that sponsorship and my medical bills is enormous. Please help to ease the financial burden to allow me to stay a teacher at the school that I love.
