Help Mrs. McBride-Van Scoyk Conquer Her Cancer

Hello Team Mrs. McBride-Van Scoyk!

I have known Laurie for so many years; she is truly a fantastic teacher and a gift to this world. Your child may have had Mrs. McBride-Van Scoyk for music or typing/ technology class. We attended her amazing concerts, and my child cared so profoundly about their recorder because of Laurie. I am sure countless families have stories about the ribbons and beads and how Mrs. McBride-Van Scoyk inspired their child to want to join the band and wake up early to attend before-school band practice in Elementary school. She is truly remarkable, and now is in the fight of her life and needs all the help we can offer!

Laurie's Chemo will be at least a year, although survival rates for stage 4 ovarian have no guarantees as to life expectancy between 1-5 years. We are all hopeful Laurie will have a good prognosis because she has a fantastic doctor starting her on immunotherapy and chemo, starting her second round next week, December 2022. The medical bills will be mounting up; anything will help.

Teachers don't ask for help like this unless it is needed. All the thoughts, prayers, and support we can offer are critical to Laurie's healing.
