Ms. Billie Cooper lost her housing

Ms. Billie Cooper has lost her housing due to a sudden busted pipe in the apartment above hers. Her home of 8 years was completely flooded and is uninhabitable because of mold and asbestos contamination.

All of her belongings were ruined including clothes, wigs, computer tablet, other electronics, her bed, furniture, art and family photos. She is now couch surfing and is once again on the waiting list for Section 8 housing after this horrific event.

We are raising funds to help her with replaceable belongings, temporary housing, and basic living expenses while she works to get back on her feet.

Ms. Billie has worked tirelessly for over 38 years doing HIV & trans activism and community engagement. She founded TransLife at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation in 2014 where countless trans people have gained much needed community and received life saving support.

Ms. Billie has received numerous awards, honors, and City and County Certificates of Recognition over the years, for which she is grateful - but we all know these awards don't pay the bills.

Please help us pay Ms. Billie Cooper back for all she has made possible for us and so many in our communities.
