Ms Fries's fight

Deb Fries has been working at Mercersburg Area Preschool, or MAPS, since 2000. She has helped teach so many kids in that time and she can remarkably remember all of her kids! She has a heart of gold and is always giving; whether it is of her time, her giving someone a much needed hug or her money by purchasing needed supplies at MAPS. Unfortunately, last week Ms Fries fell very ill. After a series of unfortunate events, Ms Fries ended up with meningitis. She thought she had a minor and treatable illness that with over the counter medicine she would be fine.  She pushed through because that's what Deb always does for her students; pushes them to be their best and keeps them going forward. 
At MAPS, we are not equipped with healthcare for employees but we do have paid time off as needed; however, Deb used all her pto in the fall to help with her mother who was receiving cancer treatment. Again, always thinking of what others need. 

Right now Deb's only worry is how she will pay for all of this.  It broke my heart when that was one of the first things she shared in my visit with her. The main goal right now is to have her rest and money worries should not be what she is stressing over while she tries to heal. Please show her how much we love and appreciate all that she does for our kids at MAPS and also, all the kids whose heart's still fondly remember her and their time at preschool.
