“Childcare workers have the incredible power to shape young minds, nurture tender hearts, and inspire limitless possibilities” - unknown
If you started your littles in daycare and ever had a drawn out tearful goodbye, you know how important it is to feel as though you are leaving your child with someone who feels like an extension of your family. Not just someone you trust but someone you and they feel comfortable receiving extra love and support from when you can’t be there. For us that was Ms. Missi. We started out with Ms. Missi when our son was 9 months old. He quickly took to her warm nurturing spirit, as did I. Getting to know her ourselves and seeing how much she cared for him was something we will remember for the rest of our lives. I know firsthand that she has touched the lives of other families over her many years of teaching, shaping, nurturing and caring for our communities children.
Ms. Missi was directly affected by Hurricane Ian. Hurricane Ian made a direct hit in Ft. Myers beach where Missi and her son were living blocks from the beach. She lost her home, memories, belongings, car, and has endured a multitude of expenses since this devastating storm. If you have had a child cared for by Ms. Missi or any other childcare worker that truly touched your family please consider donating. We would like to raise funds to help her get a car so that she no longer has to share with her family or rely on her son to get her to work.
Following the storm she was sure to reach out and check on our family even though she was dealing with her own aftermath. When offered support she kindly thanked us but never took us up off the offer. Please help us to show her how much her kind and caring heart has touched our lives and the lives of many others.
These funds will be collected and presented to her as a lump check after a couple of weeks so that she will be able to use them ASAP. If you have ever not have reliable transportation you understand every day counts! We will then give her the option to keep it open to continue to help her with any other expenses she has endured during this time.
Thank you for considering donating!
