Ms. Weiss' Classroom Library

Dear Friends,

As I head into my third year teaching high school English at Neighborhood House Charter School in Dorchester, I'd appreciate your help in building out a robust classroom library. In addition to the texts we'll read together as a class this year, I'd like to offer my students an enticing array of choice books, including classic and contemporary titles from diverse authors across genres. By allowing students time throughout the week to read books of their choosing, my goal is to spark or reignite a love of reading and contribute to students' sense of ownership over their own learning.

All funds raised will go toward purchasing books from this list--many drawn from student recommendations--as well as additional titles if we exceed our goal. (I'd love to hear your suggestions too!) I'll be purchasing the books from Belonging Books, a pop-up Massachusetts bookseller that centers the voices of people of color and other underrepresented communities.
