Ms. Wheelchair WI 2017 Journey

Donation protected
Hey and thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page!!

My name is Myranda Gereau and I was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017 on February 4th, an honor I’ve been waiting for since I was sixteen. I was born with Muscular Dystrophy and diagnosis at age two with Limb Girdle MD then re-diagnosed with Bethlem Myopathy, a sub-branch of Limb Girdle MD, at age ten and have been in a wheelchair since then. I’m now twenty-one and live in Plymouth Wisconsin with my family and go to school at UW-Sheboygan in hopes of becoming an advocate for children with disabilities in schools or hospitals.
The reason for this GoFundMe is to help me go to nationals in hopes of becoming the next Ms. Wheelchair America! This page will help cover the cost to get there which is where this page comes into play.

First being Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin is such an honor and comes with many responsibilities such as going to events throughout the state, awareness about people with disabilities and spreading my platform “We Are Able”. As a kid and even as a young adult people ranging from doctors to students have told me I couldn’t do this or that. So I told them to just watch me and I proved them wrong. I want to let everyone who has a disability know this, to know that they can do anything even if it’s not the “normal” way. They need to know they are not alone in this world and have resources in family, friends and the Ms. Wheelchair WI program.

Along with these responsibilities, in August of 2017, I will be going to Eric Pennsylvania for a week to compete in the national competition in hope of receiving the national title, Ms. Wheelchair America 2018. If I have the honor of this duty I will be traveling around advocating nationwide on my platform and talking to countless people on living with a disability. These pageants are not for beauty on the outside but on the inside. Ms. Wheelchair America is for women who happen to be in wheelchairs speak up and advocate for everyone with a disability, to be a face and a voice for them.

Again this money will help pay for my expenses while I’m Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017. It’s such an honor to be crowned an honor I’ve wanted for a while. The expenses include hotel stays, food, my entry fee and various other things I will have a do as Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017.

I thank all who support me and help me on this journey of a lifetime! Everything counts and helps me get to my next chapter.

Thank you
