Help raise funds to send our titleholder to MS. WHEELCHAIR AMERICA NATIONALS and support the Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin Organization!
We crowned our new Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2024 at the Pewaukee Fred Astaire Studio on September 30, 2023! Ms. Rayquetta Lawrence from Milwaukee, Wi, is our new 2023 Titleholder!!! Our 2024 Titleholder’s Platform: “Making A Disability An Ability” Rayquetta Lawrence from Milwaukee, Wisconsin
We had a full day event that started with hair & makeup at 8:30am! We had some amazing volunteers- many of them from the University of Milwaukee PT program & UW Madison who helped with setup/decor, lunch was provided, we held several workshops that included: Independence First with Emily Cadman & Becky Rebaton, Mindful Movement with Autumn Neugent (MWWI Titleholder 2019), and an adaptive dance workshop with Martha Siravo (MWWI Titleholder 2020/21, ballroom para-dancer & founder of Wheels & Heels Inc.). All of our contestants shared their incredible platform speeches and were able to express their passions with our attendees in-person and virtually via FB Live! We would like to invite community members, organizers, any media, and journalists to reach out to us to connect with these incredible women- especially Rayquetta! Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin is inspired and overjoyed that our event brought all of these amazing people together, and we hope to encourage more women to consider competing at this event next year! Our program seeks out passionate women who happen to use a wheelchair and participate in advocacy for the disabled community as well as their platform. Rayquetta will represent Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin at many events through her reign as well as compete for the National title of Ms. Wheelchair America 2024! If interested in helping her get to Nationals, Event pictures and videos can be viewed at: https://www.facebook.com/Ms.WCWI
