MS Cowboy Bound 4 Calgary Stampede
Tim Edge is a MS cowboy who's had a love for the horse his whole life. He grew up riding & participating in most all events involving horses. He rode in rough stock events in high school, college, & professionally. He's won numerous titles riding in the saddle bronc event such as the PRCA Dodge National Circuit Finals in 2005 & the PRCA Southeastern Circuit in 2007. He’s now training horses professionally &, in recent years, began participating in Extreme Cowboy Races. An Extreme Cowboy Race (EXCA) is an event challenging both rider & horse as they must complete an obstacle course in a timely manner. Fire? Yes. Jumps? Yes. Water? Yes. You get the idea. If the obstacle could be in anyway shape or form difficult for a rider & horse, it will probably be the next obstacle around the bend.
Tim’s done well in recent years competing in Extreme Cowboy Races. In 2014 he won the EXCA MS Pro Championship, EXCA Southeastern Division Pro Champion High Point, & the EXCA Pro Champion Regional Finals. In May he & his trusty sidekick, Pick, were invited by the Calgary Stampede Committee to compete in the Cowboy Up Challenge. This race will take place this July in Alberta, Canada during the Calgary Stampede & is invitational only. Tim is one of twelve people in the world who have been invited to compete this year.
It takes a special kind of skills to be successful in this type of competition & I believe Tim has such skills. If you have ever seen him work with horses you would agree he has a unique ability to communicate with them. He is one of few people who gets to live out his passion, his calling, in his daily life. Tim’s always looking for ways to develop as a horse trainer & participating in cowboy races has contributed to his growing process. He says, “Life’s too short to learn all there is to know about the horse.” I think he’s giving it a good shot though!
I have started this GoFundMe acct. to help Tim & Pick go international. It takes lots of money to haul a horse from Mississippi to Canada. Gas, hotels, horse boarding, entry fees: you get the idea. This should be around a two-week trip; competition dates are July 4-6, 2015. Ideally, his supportive wife (Me) & little girl (Selah) would love to go with him but we may need some help from you to make this happen. If you could help Tim, Pick, & us make this trip we would be very grateful. Prayers are most definitely welcomed!
Help us see this Mississippi cowboy ride in Calgary come July!
