MSOE Rowing Team Boat Trailer

Hello MSOE Rowing Friends, Family and Alumni!

This year, the team has been lucky enough to be able to purchase a boat trailer for independent team use. This is HUGE for the program, because the team has previously been very limited with regards to where and when they could use the Milwaukee Rowing Club's (MRC) boat trailer - typically, its use was reserved/preferentially given to the high school team. Having their own trailer is a BIG step, as it will enable them to go to their own races whenever they want, unrestricted by where or when the MRC is going to their own races.

After preparing the trailer themselves for painting, and finding a shop able to handle the work, we are pleased to report that the trailer is currently painted, reinforced, and ready for its final DOT certification. Once this is complete, the team can use it as they see fit!

The work was no small sum of money. It cost the team approximately $6,000 out of their operational account for the year. This means they have $6,000 less than they normally would have for their annual spring training trip in Texas. For reference, that sum is roughly HALF the cost of the bus rental, or approximately their entire budget for rooms for the week. To offset this cost, and ensure that the athletes are not prevented from attending this once in a lifetime (technically up to four times a lifetime) opportunity, we hope to raise enough money to offset this cost for them.
