Connecting People to MS Research

Thank you for visiting our campaign page! So who are we? Simply put, MStranslate was founded to provide the multiple sclerosis community with stories on the most cutting edge research and interviews on the timeliest and most relevant information directly from the people doing this amazing work in a way that can be accessible to all!
MStranslate is an independent science communication initiative, founded by brothers Brett and Eric Drummond and based in Melbourne, Australia. The MStranslate team consists of Brett (years of experience in MS research) and Natalie Thomas, PhD (extensive neuroscience research experience), who use their skills to provide understanding into the complex science behind MS. This, when combined with the digital media savvy of Eric, has allowed MStranslate to reach a truly global network of people with MS, researchers, clinicians and caregivers to fill the gap between incredibly complex science and the future work that will improve the lives of people with MS.
The purpose of this campaign is to to facilitate MStranslate's traveling to North America during April and May 2016 to fulfill our commitment to seek out the leading science and researchers across the globe. The foundation of this journey will be to attend the largest neurology conference in the world, the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), as well as visit some of the top academic research institutions and scientists working on MS, particularly those developing the next generation of MS treatments. This trip is designed to maximize in-person contact with institutions and leaders in the field in the most efficient fashion possible. As there is no greater concentration of neurology minds than will be seen at the AAN meeting and as a tremendous amount of MS research is conducted in the US, by consolidating multiple interviews and site visits with our travel to the AAN conference, we believe we can achieve an unprecedented amount of information acquisition in one concentrated journey, which we can then disseminate to the community via our MStranslate platforms.
We are committed to connecting people with MS and their families with the leaders of this field to encourage continued conversation and engagement that will help accelerate our understanding of this terrible disease. We appreciate any support you can provide to help us in our mission. Please check out our website (www.mstranslate.com.au) for more information.
