MSU Medical Students Humanitarian Work in Cuba

Donation protected
The first and second year students of Michigan State College of Human Medicine are planning to travel to Cuba in partnership with First- Hand Aid, but we need your help. In order to provide essential humanitarian aid to the children, families, and health care professionals of Cuba, we need to raise funds to fulfill the First-Hand Aid mission:

“To gather and distribute humanitarian and medical aid to the most marginalized Cubans giving them home, dignity, and the necessities of life and health.” These funds will be used to purchase the medicines that we personally carry into the country and distribute to hospitals, clinics and families.

Cuba is a vibrant country known for its rich culture revolving around its cuisine, lively music, and the picturesque streets of Havana. However, our island neighbors struggle daily to find enough food, medicine, and safe living conditions. On average, Cubans make $10-$12 a month, which does not match the cost of living (i.e. a gallon of milk costs $5). Hospitals often lack modern technology and basic medications; families struggle to make ends meet and put food on their tables.
