MSU Concrete Canoe Team 2017
Donation protected
We are the Mississippi State Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Recently, we have won the Deep South Regional Competition allowing our team to move forward to the National Concrete Canoe Competition hosted by the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
Our canoe this year is "Game of Thrones" themed. A fan favorite family of the show are the Starks, and they have a 'direwolf' as their house banner. With our university being located in Starkville, Mississippi and our mascot being a bulldog, the team's canoe is appropriately named "House Starkville" with a 'diredog' enlayed. The canoe weighs in at approximately 320 lbs. and has an overall lenth of 19 ft. The team has worked very hard to design and construct this beautiful boat, raise funds for materials, and be competitive against the top engineering schools in North America.
We are currently trying to raise funds for travel expenses and conference fees, which are estimated at $14,250. We appreciate any and all help you could provide for our team. With your help, we hope to win first place and establish ourselves as a top engineering school in North America.
