Mt Everest on a Stairmaster in less than 12 HRS
As a former Royal Marine I'm used to pushing and testing my physical and mental limits, but what I have planned will be my single biggest feat of physical and mental fortitude to date but I'm not doing this for me, I'm doing this to raise as much money as I can for a charity that means a great deal to my family and thousands more families throughout the UK.
WHEN
19th June 2021
WHERE
Pure Gym Moston, Manchester
WHAT
I plan to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest (58070 steps climbed) on a Stairmaster machine in under 12 hours
WHY
In 2018 my Dad was diagnosed with early stage Prostate Cancer. Like many other families who have a loved one diagnosed with cancer it came as a complete shock even though 1 in 2 people will get cancer we never think it will be us or our loved ones. With the amazing work that Prostate Cancer UK do people like my dad who are diagnosed now stand a better chance than ever of beating this terrible disease.
More information about Prostate Cancer UK: Prostate Cancer UK is here to stop prostate cancer being a killer. One man dies from prostate cancer every hour in the UK and deaths from prostate cancer are set to soar over the next decade. By finding better tests, better treatments, better prevention and better support we aim to dramatically reduce the number of men dying from prostate cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my fundraising event and the reasons why I have chosen to do this. If you could support me in reaching my fundraising target by making a donation and/or share it with your network, I would greatly appreciate it. I know the world is a crazy place right now and peoples income and finances have been hit hard so every donation no matter the amount means a great deal!
You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you CAN control the way you respond. And in your response is your greatest power. Yes, most of your stress comes directly from the way you think and respond, not the way life is. Adjust your attitude, and all that extra stress is gone.
