Mt. Slieve Donard climb

The story so far…

When Dave Cheetham turned 70 in 2022 Dave Jones ,Mike Vaughan and Dave C (aka walking buddies) decided to mark this occasion with a 3 peak hiking challenge.

The guys completed Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike over two consecutive days in May 2022, with Snowdon being completed a few months after this.

Three peaks done, however this left one more peak to conquer, ( if all the highest peaks in the UK were to be completed, ) ie Slieve Donard the highest peak in Northern Ireland.

So the walking buddies along with Mike’s son Gareth will be completing this in May.

The guys will be helping to raise funds for Joanna who lives in the Philippines, and is a niece of Jorge Saquin ( DJ son in law).

Joanna was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma and needs to pay for her surgery and radiotherapy.
