Work is scheduled to begin in late January (weather permitting).
Hi!
The Steep Ravine Trail from Pantoll Campground to the Dipsea Trail is one of California's most beautiful hiking trails. It is famous for its ladder and waterfalls and is one of Mt Tam's favorite tourist attractions.
The trail has been closed due to the structural compromise of one of its bridges (bridge #4). With funds/resources tight, the State Park has reached out to Friends of Mt Tam* to help raise funds to finance the reconstruction required to reopen the bridge.
Funds will purchase steel support beams, redwood decking, and rails.
If we can raise funds by mid-December 2022, the park has identified resources to start the work in January 2023 and expects the job to take 3-5 weeks. Just in time to experience the winter rains.
Your support will help get the trail back open. It will allow you to tell your hiking partners, "I helped build this bridge!"
Friends of Mt Tam will match all donations up to $20,000.
Every donation is important! Thank you!
Friends of Mt Tam is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code: EIN# = 94-3027663. Your donation is fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
