Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Curtis Williams, and I'm currently a Life Scout with Troop 219 in Martinsville. I'm working toward raising the last bit of money for my Eagle Scout Project.

My project is for The Waters Nursing Home. I plan to update an outdoor Alzheimers Unit. Currently, they do not have any furniture or outdoor stimulation. I plan to provide two converter benches/tables, two bird baths, two raised flower beds, a kinetic sand table and some birdhouses. The goal is to get the residents outside on a lovely day to interact with the environment and their families.

I chose the nursing home in my parent's hometown because two great grandparents were residents at one time. Not only do the staff work tirelessly at nursing homes, but residents need to be able to enjoy the fresh air. It's hard for staff to be able to help the residents if they don't have a safe and entertaining environment.
