Yesterday, on Mother's Day, my beautiful 7 year old niece was part of a hit and run accident while riding her bicycle at a local St. Charles park. Anyone who knows her has been blessed by her sweet, caring, and sunny nature.
Due to the nature of the injuries she was airlifted to a hospital in Park Ridge and is there to get the best care possible due to the unknown. At this point we know she has several broken bones, a lot of abrasions and mental scarring as well. I pray the list stops there.
The medical care and costs associated will start to pile up and any little bit you can share would be most appreciated. My family has been a part of the St. Charles community for several generations and I'm grateful for the support that we have felt so far. The thoughts and prayers for the little girl left in the middle of the road has not gone unnoticed.
As a single mother who works as a local Licensed Massage Therapist, if my sister is unable to work she does not receive pay to support her family. Her father will also be needing to take time off of work to help care for her. My niece will be in the hospital for many days, possibly even weeks, and the medical care will continue once she is transferred home.
Please consider donating to the Hanson family to help care for the associated costs of this horrific accident. I truly appreciate how this community rallies and supports its members! And as always please continue to pray for my beautiful niece.
