We Need More Nurses.

Tax deductible
To call the last year ‘remarkable’ is an understatement of sorts – the pandemic has had a massive impact on our communities. As one of the millions of nurses battling this virus on the front-lines, I have seen the heroism of so many of my colleagues, yet sadly there is an urgent need for more people to enter my profession. The truth is, we need more nurses.

An anonymous donor has decided to support The Foundation of National Student Nurses Association (FNSNA), and they are asking for your help! Today, they are committing to DOUBLING EVERY DOLLAR DONATED to a SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR STUDENT NURSES through the FNSNA. 100% of your proceeds will go directly into funding scholarships for our nations’ nurses so please dig deep and participate.

I am a proud recipient of this scholarship.

Looking back on my journey, I realize now that the nursing profession saved my life. It gave me the strength to uncover my greater purpose, and I used that passion to persevere through the most difficult times in my life. But the main obstacles I faced on my journey were financial. I was simply unable to provide for myself as there weren’t enough hours in a day to work and go to classes. Fortunately, the nursing field is built on compassion and commitment to excellence, and when I needed assistance the most, the Foundation of National Student Nurses Association stepped in to help me finish my degree. Without that scholarship I would have never become a nurse and now I am on a mission to help them raise more money, so more people like me can enter the nursing profession.

I am now working in the emergency department in a hospital in San Francisco, and I have seen so much pain, fear and tragedy during the pandemic. I have worked eighteen hour days, overnight shifts, weekends and early mornings. I have held the hands of those who are taking their last breath and consoled loved ones who said their last goodbyes. I have seen births of babies and miraculous recovery from severe injury and health. Everyday, I go to work, knowing that I am here to help people get through this, help families overcome the most difficult of times, help fellow nurses, doctors and medical staff perform at their best.

While I entered the field at one of the most challenging times in our world’s history, I know my purpose, I know my mission and I know that there are so many more people who want to do what I do everyday.

WE NEED MORE NURSES and THROUGH OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORTS, WE CAN ALL MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

No donation is too big or small, and every dollar helps!
