Kneifl Family Fire Relief

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

Our good friend Lisa Kneifl, someone we've known since our high school days in Ralston, Nebraska, is an AMAZING human and one who has consistently given of herself to others her entire life. The family had just settled into a home where everyone was doing well. Lisa remarked in a social media post a few weeks back to commemorate a year of losing her mother to ALS at how much the quilts her mother had made were not merely blankets, but more of a grounding force and a way for her mother to hug her from beyond when wrapped around her shoulders.

On the night of July 4th, the family's lives were upended when an undetermined cause fire (but suspected to be an explosion caused by a suspected power tool battery caught fire in the garage, ignited the electric vehicle's batteries) rendered everything they owned, including her mother's quilts, a total loss in a matter of minutes. They lost every quilt, every keepsake, every stitch of clothing, every photo, and any material possession they owned. While Lisa and the family and their dog raced out of the house safely before it was engulfed in flames, their beloved cat Lily succumbed to the smoke inhalation. They literally had whatever was on their backs, but escaped with their lives.

They are now temporarily housed in an extended stay motel trying to figure out how to navigate the next hour, the next day, and even the next week. They are safe, together, and relying on the Red Cross for assistance to help them through these first weeks as they figure out where they are going to find housing as they recover from the shock of this trauma. As you may imagine, they will have to rebuild their lives, along with their home, and will need your help. Any funding (no matter how small) would greatly help relieve some of the financial stress this situation has created.

Send them love, good vibes, prayers, and thoughts to them as they deserve all of that and more.

Funds will be given directly to Lisa and used for buying the basics, covering insurance deductibles, replacing personal belongings, paying deductibles and getting new EVERYTHING except for what they ran out of the house with before it was engulfed in flames.

Sincere thanks for helping, and please share this far and wide so we can get Lisa and her family back on their feet.
