Daniel is terminally ill with abdominal Chondrosarcomas ( stomach cancer) He has been sick the last 3 years. He has had 3 surgeries with a 4th just completed 10/16/15.

The first surgery was April 25,2013 for lung biopsies. The second surgery was may 6, 2013 to remove a tumor the size of a loaf of wonder bread and 1/4 of the Iliac bone. During this surgery more tumors were found to be “mushrooming" off his pelvis and back. The third surgery was May 22, 2014 where they removed 2ft of intestine and scrapped tumor growth sites.  More tumors were found in the back and are still there growing .Chemo was ordered to try to stop these new emerging tumors I was 7.5 months pregnant with our Daughter Mavis, working 40-60 hours a week in a retail job, and taking 16 units in collage, raising two preteens, and raising our own food sources by farming and raising chickens. Because he is considered a younger patient doctors gave him the harshest chemo they could. The chemo did not work. The tumors are still growing. in Jan 2015 Daniel told his team he was taking himself off chemo to go the holistic route and spend time with his family. They are not happy with us. they will not help us unless he gets back on chemo. . We are looking into many new options for treatment but most are not covered by his insurance or require we travel and stay out of state which we are not able to afford at this time.

At Mavis's 18 week gestational ultra sound it was found that she had both bilateral cleft lip and pallet. We were told many times to terminate because we had so much going on. We refused. Mavis was born 7/5/2014. Two weeks later we left our farm and my two older girls with a care taker and drove from Bodega to SF to start Daniels 1st of 6 chemo's. Mavis is now 15 months old. She has now had 2 major surgeries to repair the cleft lip and palette. She is starting to walk and meet other mile stones. To aid Mavis in Speech and communications we have enrolled her with Bay Area Music therapy. Right now we are on a very minimal schedule due to finances. We are so very pleased with how much music therapy has helped Mavis that we are asking for help to provide her with time one a week for a hour session to allow her the maximum benefit.

We have tried to make life for everyone as normal as possible while balancing treatments and surgeries, especially for the older girls as they make it through Jr. High and high school. We are asking for help to support our family through cancer.
