reconstructive surgery (weight loss)

Yup, that's me! It has taken years of hard work and dedication to get to where I am today.  I once weighed over 450 pounds and I'm never going back to those aches & pains, the sideways glances and head shakes of strangers, and not being able to do the things that I love in life.  I don't take the little things for granted; I can now fit in any chair, ride in any plane, kayak, and even run!  

Losing so much weight has taken a toll on my physical appearance and diminished my ability to do everyday activities so I've decided to have reconstructive surgery in September 2014.  This surgery will remove excess skin that will never regain its shape.  I'm having several surgeries in one; panniculectomy & an extended abdominoplasty.  This is no simple "nip & tuck".  The doctor that will be performing the surgery said he will be removing 6-7 square feet of excess skin.  If that just made your eyes open a little wider, imagine how I feel!  Amazing but scary right? 

So I'm asking this of you; give so I can lose.  I tell my friends that I just can't wait until the day my body stops chasing itself.  The excess skin is simply unattractive, unpleasant, and causing rashes when I'm exercising & being active. If you could give towards this surgery, it could be the start of something amazing for me!  Of course, any donations are welcome but please also consider passing on the link to this page (www.gofundme.com/much2gain).
