Muffy's medical expenses

/UPDATE/12-27/
Chastiti has made amazing progress this month, since her birthday 12/4 she has regained the ability to speak and hold conversations and meaningful eye contact. She has had her breathing, feeding, and fecal tubes removed and now eats independently with no diet restrictions. Chastiti has all of her memories to our knowledge and only deals with momentary confusion which she can work through with some help. Muffy still has extremely limited movement not being able to walk or sit up, she is transported via air sling to her bed and specialized wheelchair. She hasn't come home yet because she still has many surgeries to come as well and she needs intense wound care as well as assistance bathing, using the bathroom, and many other small tasks. Chastiti is receiving these services as well as many different kinds of therapy from Kennady Kregar Children's Hospital. She is suspected to stay here for at very least another month or two. Chastitis brain function appears to be the same as before the accident only getting confused momentarily. Please continue to donate and share as her bills increase daily . Thank you to everyone who has reached out, sent money, and come to visit Muffy. more updates soon .
On Saturday night around 10:00 pm my sister and I were leaving work and decided to walk home because of how close we were. The walk home required us to cross North Point Blvd a multi-lane road in Dundalk, MD A road known for accidents. Within seconds of crossing the street, we were approached by a car we had thought was much, much further back. Chastiti, Or Muffy was hit by the driver's side headlight and left visible damage to the driver's mirror and bumper. Chastiti was rushed to the hospital via ambulance as well as myself riding in the front seat to stay with her. She has a broken pelvis disc, broken femur and tibia as well as bruises on her lungs and blunt force damage to her liver. She is currently nonresponsive to demands and has experienced several seizures since Saturday night. Originally no brain or nerve damage was suspected but since the seizures and scans they have been performing they have found mild damage to her brain. She is being held in the SICU on breathing tubes until they can finish her many surgeries. The doctors are saying she will be there for many weeks and will be transferred to an inpatient physical therapy rehab for an unknown amount of time. Her future is very unclear right now the doctors can't give a definitive answer on whether she will walk again . There were also concerns about reproductive function, as her pelvis was essentially shattered. She will need plastic surgery reconstruction on her genitalia as well as skin grafts on her thighs and pubic region. If she cannot walk again we will have to make many adjustments as a family to accommodate her condition, as our bathroom and her bedroom our on the second floor relocation is almost definite. As you can imagine the medical bills from this are immense and the last thing we want for her is to have medical debt and bad credit once she has healed.
As far as the driver that hit her, we are still working through it legally to figure out what insurance payout we can get if any. I can't disclose too much of the legal stuff with everyone at this time. This is a long battle Muffy will have to fight medically as well as a battle we fight at home facing legal issues. She has many hard days and nights ahead and many many operations need to be paid for. Any money donated will be put directly toward her medical procedures and any therapies she may need afterward.
Chastiti is the youngest daughter of our household and is a loving caregiver to her cat Renji. She enjoys walks with friends and quiet adventures through the woods with me, her sister. Chastiti loves everything that's alive except the bugs that bite, she tends our townhome garden multiple times a day and plans to go to college for environmental sciences and animal-related sciences. She loves to learn about everything and plans on opening a sanctuary for injured reptiles and the big scary animals people forget to love. She loves everything cutesy and girly, never leaving home without pink lipgloss and hair bows. She is such a young, innocent soul,
having a particular fondness for crocodiles and alligators despite her hyper-feminine appearance and soul. Chastiti has always been the sweet and softer one of our duo, showing kindness to all things that breathe and always helping me rationalize when I get angry. She loves music and her friends, smelling good and taking long showers, playing Mortal Kombat, and driving around to music. She deserves all the things in the world. The night of the incident I remember her taking her break with me at the place we both worked and trying her best to convince me to finish my shift. She's the light of every room she's in with her quick wit and hilarious descriptions of mundane things. Chastiti is a soft-spoken and very sweet girl, with loyalty and light I've yet to find in another companion. She is 17, soon to be 18 in December a birthday she will probably spend in a hospital because A driver couldn't find the compassion to slow down. Please keep Muffy in mind these next couple of months as we fight the journey to her recovery and justice. As you go through the next couple weeks of your life, hold your sisters tighter and stay grateful for everything you have. All of us are so grateful for how lucky she did get as it could be so much worse. Please drive a little slower and hold who you love close. We hope to see her in better condition soon.
Any donation you can make will be so appreciated and used only to help heal our Muffy.
Please continue reposting if you cannot donate. Please share photos of Muffy and help us show the world her radiant soul.
more photos will be added as time goes on <3
