Help Mohammed's Family Find Safety

Hi everyone!!!

A little about me: My name is Cheramie Johnson, and I currently live on the Squaxin Island Tribe's homelands in Turtle Island, which many people currently call Olympia, Washington in the United States.

Since October of last year, Palestinians in Gaza have been ravaged by destruction, displacement, and death at the hands of the Israeli military and government. More than 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in the region in the last 8 months, and entire Palestinian families, spanning multiple generations, have been completely destroyed.

Recently, a good friend of mine introduced me to Mohammad Khalid, a Palestinian man living in Gaza who has been fundraising with a few other folks in Gaza to provide food, water, medication, and PPE for the community.

My friend let me know that Mohammad is also hoping to raise $20,000 to allow him, his wife, and his family to escape Gaza as soon as possible. This will break down to about $5k per family member trying to escape, and raising that money is the purpose of this campaign. I'm very much hoping that each of you will share with Mohammad's family whatever resources you can, and/or that you'll spread the word to others who can contribute.

This GoFundMe is a mutual aid campaign; your donations will come to me, and I will transfer them directly to Mohammad via Paypal, so that he receives all of the money raised, minus the GoFundMe fees. I will update this campaign with screenshots for every transfer I make.

I know so many of you, despite feeling stressed and stretched in so many different directions, have really wanted to directly support people in Gaza. In this case, a very little bit really does help. Although I have never met Mohammad in person, I think of this as being like neighbors simply helping one another by sharing what we can when we can, and I know from his efforts in Gaza that Muhammad is a man who helps his own neighbors in whatever ways he can.
