“GULU REGION CLEAN AND SAFE WATER PROJECT”
Donation protected
My name is Mulindwa Moses, I’m a climate and environmental justice advocate from Uganda. I’m majorly involved in lobbying for environmental laws, enforcing the pre-existing ones or protesting and publicly opposing harmful projects.
This project needs funding for three reasons;
1: It will provide clean and safe drinking water with the construction of 60 boreholes,
2: Educate people how to take climate action
3: Help them invest sustainably in agriculture (Permaculture).
We are seeking £150000 in total funding. Please read the story below till the end and see how the funds will be used. Thank you and hopefully you consider donating for this noble cause!

As some of you may know I don’t fundraise unless there’s an emergency for instance in “2020 when Uganda was locked down because of Covid-19 but also undergoing immense flooding and landslides, I fundraised and provided support to 500 families with more than 1800 members who were impacted by the climate crisis with basic needs.
Last year I was a COP26 delegate, and luckily enough took part in some of the negotiations and side events. There was a reach of very many solutions to climate change but when it gets to climate finance, and loss and damages for countries like mine which are already facing the wrath of the climate crisis are far from attaining it yet people are dying and going through extraordinary suffering.

“If you want to change the world, there’s no better place to start than your own community.” And I’m ready to do that,”by providing clean and safe water.”
Water is a necessity for all living beings and access to clean and safe water is a basic human right.
The water crisis in Uganda is a major threat to health, education and opportunities. 28 million people in Uganda are living without basic access to clean and safe drinking water. That’s more than 51% of the country’s population. This barrier is keeping families from lifting themselves out of poverty.
Specifically in Gulu district where this service Will be taken— people draw their drinking water mainly from sources such as shallow wells and spring wells, which have either dried up due to the impacts of the climate crisis for instance intense droughts or are contaminated because they are often watering holes for livestock, downhill from latrines and catchments for mudslides debris— all dangerous contaminants that contribute to life-threatening illness like diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid, dysentery and hepatitis A.
These waterborne diseases kill very many people on a daily basis, and the highest percentage of those deaths are children under five years old. There are also other atrocities associated with trekking long journey in search of water for instance school dropouts, sexual assaults.
Constructing 60 boreholes in Gulu is sustainable because they provide clean and safe water in both weather seasons and for a very long time. But this project is to make sure that people in Gulu district are able to adapt and also carry out other solutions to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis.
So we will also carry out;
•Massive climate education with different climate actors and environmentalists.
•Invest sustainably in Agriculture. (Permaculture)
Our Goal.
This project needs funding as it will provide clean and safe drinking water with the construction of 60 boreholes, educate people how to take climate action and sustainable investment in agriculture. We are seeking £150000 in total funding.

Estimated budget:
60 boreholes @ £2000 = £120000
25 seminars on climate education @£200 =£5000
Sustainable investment in agriculture (permaculture)
•vegetable seedlings- £5000
•Tools and training- £5000
•Tree seeds and biodegradable tree sacks- £15000
Total amount requested £150000.
If the following funding is granted, it will transform this community sustainably and improve people’s standards of living.
60 boreholes will provide clean and safe water for very many years and eradicate the problem of water scarcity and other problems associated with it.
Climate education is critical because it will encourage the general public to take climate action and also mould leaders that are environmentally conscious and capable of strengthening Nature-based solutions.
Sustainable investment in agriculture (permaculture) Ensures Each farmer is educated on how to care for the trees to ensure their survival and long-term growth instead of random mass planting and not being sure what happens to the trees. Planting trees with farmers is imperative because it bring farmers’ soil back to life, making it possible for an abundance of fruits and vegetables to grow. This helps farmers feeds their family and earn a steady income, ending hunger and poverty and growing the local economy, and also supports biodiversity too, plants and animals species thrive.
This project is going to benefit over 25000 people directly and hundreds of thousands indirectly. The program is planned to begin at the end of February 2022.
Anyone who is willing to come and participate in the project physically is more than welcome.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Thank you very much.
Let’s save lives!!
“Go Fund Me doesn't operate in Uganda— so Lauryn Adhinda Wasiama who is listed as a "beneficiary" is actually the one who makes sure that we receive the funds in Uganda, the real beneficiaries are people staying in Gulu region, northern part of Uganda who have been hit by intense droughts for three consecutive years resulting into the water crisis, She is a pharmacist in the UK, but most importantly a friend that I trust and have done different projects with. Her passion in helping underprivileged people and contributing to sustainability is incredibly unparalleled.”
