Mullumbimby Child Acupuncture wellness centre

Hi, my name is Candace Foo. I am an Acupuncturist with 10 years experience serving my local community of Mullumbimby.

My vision is to open a children’s and family health centre in the heart of Mullumbimby to support young people with holistic, preventative and early intervention health care, as well as creating supportive community groups and events for teens and families both during pregnancy and post-partum.

Working with families for over 10 years I have seen that early intervention and preventative care is invaluable. As a mother myself I have been able to address my daughters’ wellbeing using Chinese Medicine principles and see clearly the immense benefits for children. Acupuncture holds a deep and ancient field of knowledge in pediatric (childrens) health care, yet this service is not so clearly available locally to support children.

Whilst there is a plethora of health services in the region for Adults, there is a gap in services tailored specifically to the needs of babies, children, young people and families, and in particular in alternative health care. This need has become even greater with recent events (covid, floods) in the region.

Both alternative and conventional practitioners will work from the centre providing children's community Acupuncture, Acupuncture for Adults, Homeopathy for families, Remedial massage for families, Social work offering mental health support, yoga and meditation for the entire family, breathwork and sound emersions, play therapy for children, art classes, poetry nights, movie nights, education pods, families groups and more. An exceptional team are at the ready.

The Acupuncture community clinic for children will operate at low cost ensuring access for children to affordable local health care. Wheelchair access will also be available with suitable funding.

I would like to ask you to consider a donation towards bringing this community facility to Mullumbimby, to support local families to bring healthy, empowered, children into this town, nation and world. Our children are our future.

I have a venue and team ready to begin, however some financial support is needed to cover the costs of opening. Any donations are hugely appreciated!

There will be many opportunities for community involvement from community groups, empowering educational workshops for families and events as well as participating in health appointments and community clinics.

While administering high level health care I also seek to develop research-based practice to further improve and support our care industries.
