I support a multicultural UW
Donation protected
An unofficial Laurier student group has rented UW's Theatre of the Arts on April 30 for a speaking event featuring Faith Goldy, former commentator for The Rebel Media, and Ricardo Duchesne, author of Canada in Decay: Mass Immigration, Diversity, and the Ethnocide of Euro-Canadians. They’ll be discussing “multiculturalism, borders, and identity in Canada.”
This is an external event, not supported or endorsed by the University of Waterloo. The speakers were not invited to campus by UW's faculty, staff, or students. Their ideas do not reflect the views or the scholarship of UW's faculty, staff, or students.
The Faculty Association of the University of Waterloo has created this GoFundMe campaign to give campus and community members a meaningful way to signal their support for Indigenous and racialized members of the UW community. 100% of funds raised will be donated to Waterloo campus organizations that support a more diverse campus. We will be donating to Shatitsirótha’, the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC); and on behalf of UWBASE (Black Association for Student Expression), to the Collective Movement Award, a scholarship for UW students who volunteer and contribute to the school's black, African and Caribbean communities.
Even a small donation will add you to the count of people expressing their support for all members of our University community. Students and others with lower incomes -- a donation of even $2 sends the clear message that you support a #multiculturalUW!
You can remain anonymous if you wish. If you are a Waterloo student, staff, faculty member, or alum, feel free to note that in the comments.
Help us to raise some money for great initiatives and make clear that you support a diverse, multicultural University of Waterloo!
