Multiple Myeloma Cancer Fight for Jodie Martinez
Donation protected
Hello,
This fundraiser is to raise money to go towards all the medical needs, cancer needs, medical costs, hotel, gas, and food expenses for doctors, treatment and travel to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL (especially since the Hope Lodge is still closed due to Covid-19), and a special bed that has an electric base that is soft enough to help the bone pain and fragile spine and bones that Jodie Martinez has in her fight against the cancer Multiple Myeloma. The bed cost is right around $5000. Jodie is also trying to get her own hair turned into a wig. Medicare does not cover cranial prosthesis and mostly every organization stays in the same area of $1000. Jodie has chosen Compassionate Creations to make the wig. The cost is $1000. If synthetic add in is necessary then it is $250-$350 more.
Jodie was first diagnosed with this in 2011 and it has been a fight since with multiple health issues, from her heart to her bones and so much more as it progressed through the years to 2020. As of today June 14th, Jodie has Stage 2 Multiple Myeloma out of 3 stages. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells of the blood and the bones. Unlike other cancers, there is no cure for Multiple Myeloma. The treatment Jodie has chosen is to try and prolong life for as long as possible through chemo, Stem Cell Transplant, and Car-T Cell Therapy as the research for this cancer is coming along at a great rate to hopefully find the cure.
Jodie travels to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida for treatment with most of her doctors there, but also receives treatment locally at Florida Cancer in DeLand Florida.
Every little bit of donation and prayers you are able to give, helps with the expenses incurred from this disease in so many ways. Thank you so much for all of you and we love you very much... ♡
