Mum Baby Shakila donates KIDNEY 2 daughter Mifla
Donation protected
Mother, Baby Shakeela is donating a Kidney to her daughter Fathima Mifla for transplant.
Fathima Mifla, a young girl of 17 years in her prime youth suffering from end-stage renal failure.
Mifla had been undergoing hemodialysis for the last several years needing a kidney transplant.
She is extremely poor and is the granddaughter of an Orphan who was in Kaleliya Ladies Arabic College and introduced to our family in 1969 by its founder.
Her father too grew up in Makola Orphanage,
Mifla’s mother Baby Shakeela has come forward to donate a Kidney and the transplant to be done in January 2023.
Mifla and her parents do not have a house of their own and living with another family. Two families thus sharing a two-bedroomed house.
Dr V. Bavanthan, a Consultant Nephrologist will be performing the Kidney transplant on the daughter Mifla. Her mother Baby Shakeela is donating a Kidney.
The doctor has asked to locate a clean house for both the daughter and the mother to be taken care of after the surgery. They have to rent a small house in proximity to the hospital.
Our wider family and friends have so far raised Rupees 525,000, of which Rupees 300,000 has been spent on various tests, medicine etc.
Though the surgery is done in Teaching Hospital in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, the medicine, injections, and tests need to be purchased and done outside privately paying exorbitant market prices prevailing in Sri Lanka due to shortages etc.
An estimated further Rupees 1,500,000 (A$6,000) would be required before and post-surgery. It could go higher since the patient needs to be on medication and regular nephrologist consultations lifelong. The dwindling level of medicine availability in government hospitals may lead to more purchases from outside privately and from overseas.
We are appealing to your charity for this poor young kidney recipient and her donor mother!
May God almighty accept your Charity, zakath and sadaka.
