Thank you so much for everyone’s generous donations. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it and how much it has helped.

Commonwealth Bank are reviewing the complaint I have made, but are still insisting payment of the credit card and have not recovered any stolen funds.

Westpac NZ have recovered $5500, so I have adjusted the goal to $20,000.

Hey it’s Chris and I’m fundraising for my Mum Marie.

Thats her above babysitting her grandfur baby Dougie.

Anyone that knows Marie, knows how hard life has been.

She raised 3 children by herself as a widow and has worked hard throughout her life.

In May 2023, she was contacted by a scammer on the phone, who emptied all of her bank accounts, leaving her with $4 in her purse

and a $3000 credit card debt, that the bank are now asking she pay off.

Aside from her bill account and everyday living expenses, Mum had been saving her tax cheques for the past 7 years, to buy herself a used car in retirement, and now she is left with zero in the bank for living and savings.

She has always gone without and budgeted her entire life on minimum wages and the $25000 stolen by the scammer was everything she had.

I am asking everyone I know to help out and donate. Even if it’s $5, I know it will help her. She feels absolutely lost and is struggling both emotionally and financially.

I know everyone is doing it tough at the moment, so a small donation and sending the link onto family and friends is all I ask. If we can forward onto as many people as possible, it will make a huge impact to my Mum.
