Munchkins end of life care

Hi beautiful people, this is extremely difficult to ask of anyone as I know we are all in a cost of living crisis and I feel extremely embarrassed to be in such an awful predicament. Unfortunately as most of you know, our beautiful sweet girl Munchkin (who we adopted after she was rescued from being discarded in a drain!) has a congenital illness called hydrocephalus which is causing her to have daily seizures. We are completely and utterly devastated and our hearts are in a million pieces as this illness is something that is progressively going to get worse and she is already suffering up to 3 seizures daily. It’s hard to know when the right time to say goodbye is as 90% of the time she is her usual beautiful, cheeky, affectionate and mischievous self. At this point in time we are still paying off quite a hefty vet bill from when our little Munchkin had broken her leg. She’s worth every cent because she means the world to us and there’s no way we could have foreseen or prepared for what was to come.

We have been quoted between $600-$800 for her end of life care which includes euthanasia via vet/at home euthanasia (which would be the most ideal) and cremation. Unfortunately we may have to say goodbye to one of our older cats at the same time as Munchkin as he is losing the use of his back legs due to old age. To have to say goodbye one of our beautiful furbabies is heartbreaking enough, let alone having to say goodbye to two of our furbabies at the same time or close together, especially as I am so close to my due date for our little man.. we just don’t currently have the financial means to give both our fur babies the end of life care they are deserving of.
