Murales #SaveWarriorNun en España

Primero que nada, muchísimas gracias por las aportaciones a esa meta inicial de 3000€. El mural de Barcelona ha sido un éxito increíble y muchos perfiles de arte urbano se están haciendo eco. Sois increíbles y el combustible de este proyecto. Por eso venimos con novedades y actualizaciones sobre el proyecto en Madrid, que ya está más o menos encaminado.

Para empezar, esta vez el muro será más grande, de 4x7 en lugar de 3x5, y, a diferencia del de Bcn, hemos alquilado el espacio para garantizar un mes de estadía del mural sin ser borrado. Obviamente, esto supone un coste mayor que su homónimo catalán, suponiendo un desembolso del más del doble de dinero. En total, 7213,40€ (3620€ de alquiler del muro y 3593,40€ del mural, viaje y estancia de Magia Seoane en Madrid).

Desearíamos que el mural estuviera realizado para las Fiestas del Orgullo en Madrid (23 junio-2 julio), ¡pero para eso necesitamos recaudar al menos el coste del alquiler del muro cuanto antes! Cualquier aportación es de agradecer, y, sobre todo, compartid en RRSS para llegar a más gente.

First of all, thank you very much for the contributions to the initial goal of 3000€. The Barcelona mural has been an incredible success and many urban art profiles are echoing it. You are amazing and the fuel of this project. That's why we come with news and updates about the project in Madrid, which is already more or less on track.

For a start, this time the wall will be bigger, 4x7 instead of 3x5, and, unlike the one in Bcn, we have rented the space to guarantee a month's stay of the mural without being erased. Obviously, this means a higher cost than its Catalan counterpart, involving an outlay of more than twice as much money. In total, €7213.40 (€3620 for the rental of the wall and €3593.40 for the mural, travel and stay of Magia Seoane in Madrid).

We would like the mural to be ready for the Pride Festivities in Madrid ( June 23rd-July 2nd), but for that we need to collect at least the cost of the wall rental as soon as possible! Any contribution is appreciated, and, above all, please share on social media to reach more people.

Esa es la sinopsis de Warrior Nun (La monja guerrera) en Netflix. Puede parecer una idea totalmente disparatada y absurda, pero lo cierto es que se trata de una obra de una calidad subestimada que ha levantado pasiones en un público no escaso. Esto no la ha salvado del indiscriminado guillotinazo de la gran productora de streaming, que ha convertido esta tendencia en su modus operandi habitual, sobre todo con series con representación social (femenina, LGBTI+, personas racializadas...). Así que, sumada a la incredulidad por la cancelación de una serie que ha cosechado tan buenos números pese a la nula promoción invertida, se suma la furia del movimiento social #CancelYourGays que lleva ya unos años gestándose.

La campaña #SaveWarriorNun ha logrado méritos internacionales tan grandes como las más de 120K firmas recogidas en Change org para su renovación, el récord de ser la serie de Netflix mejor valorada por la audiencia en Rotten tomatoes, los 13M de tweets con el hastag antes mencionado (89M en TikTok), casi 3.900 artículos sobre la serie y el movimiento fan, y 10 vallas publicitarias alrededor del mundo, una incluso emplazada frente a las oficinas de Netflix durante varias semanas, todas financiadas por el propio fandom.

De esta última iniciativa forma parte este GoFundMe. La serie está ambientada Y RODADA en España, y, a pesar de eso, el movimiento fandom en nuestro país ha destacado muy poco en comparación con otros países. Por eso, queremos aportar nuestro granito de arena al #SaveWarriorNun pero de una manera original, y colaborando con artistas y creativos locales y urbanos. Así pues, contamos con Magia Seoane para la realización del primer mural urbano de Warrior Nun del mundo, que se llevará a cabo a lo largo del día 12 de mayo en los jardines de Les Tres Xemeneies, en Barcelona, un parque famoso por su actividad artística y su afluencia de público. El proyecto completo implica la cantidad de 1.621,80€, un gasto aprobado por el equipo internacional del GoFundMe original, pero con el que queremos colaborar recaudando todo lo posible para devolver al menos parte de esa inversión. Además, estamos negociando la posibilidad de realizar otro mural diferente en Madrid, algo que saldría probablemente más caro, y que dependerá de lo que logremos recoger en esta campaña.

Por eso, seas o no fan de la serie, si apoyas la representación de diferentes colectivos en las obras audiovisuales, si quieres colaborar con el arte urbano y los pequeños artistas, si te gusta la ciencia ficción con inspiración en la fe religiosa, si quieres ayudar a fomentar la industria cinematográfica en nuestro país, o si simplemente te has hartado de las políticas absurdas de Netflix y otras grandes compañías, te animamos a aportar cualquier cantidad que puedas permitirte a este proyecto global, hecho desde el amor y la ilusión.

That's the synopsis of Warrior Nun on Netflix. It may sound like a completely crazy and absurd idea, but the truth is that this is a work of understimated quality that has raised passions in not a small audience. This has not spared it from the indiscriminate guillotining of the big streaming production company, which has turned this trend into its usual modus operandi, especially with series with social representation (female, LGBTI+, POC...). So, in addition to the incredulity at the cancellation of a series that has achieved such good numbers despite the lack of promotion invested, there is also the fury of the social movement #CancelYourGays that has been building for some years now.

The #SaveWarriorNun campaign has achieved great international merits such as the +120K signatures collected on Change org for its renewal, the record of being the Netflix show best rated by the audience on Rotten Tomatoes , the 13M tweets with the aforementioned hastag (89M on TikTok), almost 3,900 articles about the series and the fan movement, and 10 billboards around the world, one even placed in front of the Netflix offices for several weeks, all financed by the fandom itself.

This GoFundMe is part of that latter initiative. The show is set AND FILMED in Spain, and, despite this, the fandom movement in our country has not stood out much compared to other countries. That's why we want to do our bit for #SaveWarriorNun but in an original way, in collaboraton with local and urban artists and creatives. Thus, we are counting on Magia Seoane to create the first Warrior Nun urban mural in the world, which will take place throughout the 12th of May in the gardens of Les Tres Xemeneies, in Barcelona, a park famous for its artistic activity and its influx of people. The entire project involves the amount of €1,621.80, an expense approved by the international team of the original GoFundMe, but with which we want to collaborate by raising as much as possible to return at least part of that investment. We are also negotiating the possibility of making a different mural in Madrid, something that would probably be more expensive, and which will depend on what we manage to raise in this campaign.
