MURDOCH v THE PEOPLE: Help us with Legal Costs!

Hello,

We are a group of ordinary people - electricians, teachers, scientists, citizens - who stood up to some of the most powerful people on the planet.

Now we are asking for your help.

On 4th September 2020 we temporarily disrupted the distribution of The Times, The Telegraph, the Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and The Sun newspapers. We were following in the footsteps of the suffragettes, the civil rights movement and countless others by taking non-violent direct action in protest against injustice.

Why?

Because we are terrified for our children's futures

Because we believe democracy is worth fighting for.

Because we could no longer stand by and do nothing.

Studies prove that the news & media we consume hugely influences what we believe and how we interact with the world. In Britain, just four tax-dodging billionaires own most of the news we read, and there is no meaningful regulation (IPSO is a sham, repeatedly hiring from the papers it's supposedly independent of)

That means the majority of the British people are 'informed' by the personal, political agendas of a tiny handful of the elite ruling class: the 1%. And this 1% have a shocking and unparalleled level of access to our government - our politicians are firmly in their pocket.

We've been found guilty of Obstruction of the Highway, and 60 others are going through the arduous court process now.

The billionaire press are dismantling our democracy before our very eyes, and they deliberately keep us misinformed, divided and distracted in order to make more money.

But we will not be cowed, and we will not be divided. Will you stand with us?
