Murdock Family fund raiser

On Friday, January 19, Shane "Rocky" Murdock was heading to the airport to pick up family, but he never arrived. Knocked unconscious in a car accident, it would be hours before his wife, Natasha, was notified that he was in the emergency department downstairs in the very hospital where she works. In a tremendous amount of pain due to his fractured and dislocated hip, Rocky was transported by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. His hip was set back in place Friday night. Rocky is currently in traction awaiting surgery. His doctors say he will not be able to put any weight on that leg for at least three months.

As Rocky is self-employed, that means three months with no income. His medical bills alone would be daunting, but on top of that, they will not have his income to pay regular bills and his car will need replaced. His wife, Natasha's car was already inoperable. Rocky was working to repair it-a job he can no longer complete. There is no way that Tasha can pay for all of these expenses plus take care of her four sons on her salary as a lab technician at Mercy Pediatric Clinic, even with the overtime work she regularly performs in Mercy Medical Center's Main Lab.

If you know the Murdock's, you know that they are a family of givers. Any of them would gladly give you anything you need without asking for anything in return. So we, her friends, had to convince Tasha to let us start this Go Fund Me for her family to help with living expenses over the next few months. This way Tasha can concentrate on taking care of her family during this incredibly difficult time without worrying about how she is going to pay the rent, the electric bill or buy groceries.
