Muriel Brown Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
The Muriel Sharpe Brown Scholarship Fund is being established in lieu of flowers, for the memory of our loving mother & wife, Muriel Sharpe Brown. We are asking everyone to make donations to a scholarship fund in Muriel’s name that will be used to help a Wake County high school senior attending North Carolina Central University (NCCU) with a major in Early Childhood Education. As you know, Muriel loved “her babies” and she had a tremendous passion for education.
Muriel taught elementary school for over 35 years primarily in Wake county. Mom believed in mentoring students, as she touched the lives
of hundreds of her "babies" during her teaching career. She was generous with love and devotion for family, friends, and students. She believed in mentoring the youth (in and outside of the classroom) and had a special place for small children. We know Mom would want us to help someone that has the same passion for education as she did. She believed teaching was a calling and much more than just a job. Her calling allowed her to shape/mold children, not just teach them a curriculum. As, one of her former students would say, I knew I would have to "act-right" because Mrs. Brown would come to my class.
