Murphy Walkathon For Haywood County Hurricane Relief

The Town of Murphy is in its pilot year of founding the Mayor's Rising Stars (MRS). MRS is a youth development program which encourages leadership, community engagement, and volunteerism. After Hurricane Helene hit many WNC counties to the east of Murphy, the Mayor's Rising Stars decided they wanted to host a walkathon fundraiser to provide funding to communities in need. Our group has chosen to donate to Haywood Christian Ministry because of its valuable work in Haywood County with food distribution, rural community support, and dedication to sustainable rebuilding in WNC.
