Wichita Police Officer Greg Murray

This campaign has been started to help support Greg Murray, a veteran of the Wichita Police Department in Wichita, Kansas. Greg has dedicated the past 17 years of his law enforcement career to working some of the hardest cases involving gang violence, child abuse, and homicide in some of the more dangerous neighborhoods in Wichita.

After having witnessed so many horrific events and suffering from the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Greg had to quit working in September 2015 and filed for medical retirement. During this time, Greg received medical treatment to help him cope with the side effects of his PTSD, which ultimately resulted in him suffering a stroke around Thanksgiving 2015. Since then, he has had significant issues with short-term memory loss and his speech has also been affected. Unfortunately, it seems that the determination of whether or not he qualifies for early retirement and compensation has been delayed.

Between the lengthy process of granting his request for early medical retirement, as well as the substantial difficulties he has endured following his stroke, he has been unable to work, and therefore unable to earn an income. As a family, we have been financially supporting Greg and his two teenage children for several months, but are unable to carry the burden alone. We are asking that you help support Greg during this incredibly difficult and frustrating time by donating funds in order to help provide for him while he awaits the ruling on his medical retirement.
